Presenting Assignment Earth

There’s a new media organization dedicated to environmental reporting. Assignment Earth creates compelling news stories on issues related to wildlife conservation, industrial pollution, destruction of natural habitats and the ecological impact of climate change.  Distributed online, and on Public Broadcasting Service stations nationwide  under the title This American Land, AE programs aim to educate viewers on these issues, encourage other reporters to cover similar stories, and to energize public debate.

Produced by  Environment News Trust, these non-commercial programs are free for viewers and conservation groups with similar values to share. AE encourages the decimation of its videos and program notes over social networking web sites like Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Working with new media outlets like The Joy Trip Project, its goal is to create the largest possible audience to become involved in the conversation and for individuals like you to lend their opinions and ideas to these critical topics.

Take a look at this first edition of Assignment Earth. Let us know what you think. If you like it, share it with your network of friends. It’s our hope that through the power of social media we’ll be able to successfully tell the story of environmental protection on our planet.
