Hire James! – The Joy Trip Project

If you’ve been following this blog for a while now you may already know that one of my professional goals is to become a full-time producer in Public Radio. That goal is within my grasp and you can help me get there.
I am a candidate for the position of field producer on the new Public Radio program The State of the Re:Union (www.stateofthereunion.com). James&AudreyIn each episode this one-hour show takes an in-depth look at the social and political challenges that face the citizens of one community in the United States. Revealing many of the struggles ordinary people face every day SOTRU aims to show how despite our differences we are all very much same.

This job could be a natural extension of the work I’ve done here at the Joy Trip Project. It is my ambition to develop similar stories on people and their pursuit of happiness  but for a broader audience.   My dream is to become engaged in the national dialog on the topics of our times ranging from diversity to universal health care to expanded environmental protection. You can help make that dream a reality. What’s especially great is that this position  would allow me to  travel and continue to bring you great stories from around the country. And for the sake of my home and family in Madison, I won’t have to relocated!
In this very competitive job market and in an exclusive institution like Public Radio, I aim to demonstrate my ability to build a new and engaged audience for SOTRU by activating my personal network of friends and fans on Facebook.  All you have to do to join the cause is sign on as a fan of State of the Re:Union at : http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/State-of-the-ReUNION/17611627898?ref=ts
Drop in the message  “Hire James.” If you’re a dedicated fan  already, by all means  please say so and let them know why.  If you have friends who might enjoy sharing in this campaign please share this link and encourage them to lend their support as well. It is my sincere hope that your recommendation will sway the decision makers and add weight  to my long list of outstanding qualifications.
If you’re not a member of Facebook you can also write an email on my behalf to jobs@stateofthereunion.com. Again have the subject line read “Hire James!”
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.  The application deadline is September 18th, 2009. So act now! Ironically that’s also my birthday.  I’d consider landing this job the best gift EVER!
Thanks for your kind consideration-JEM
